From Boring to Bold: Reinventing the Corporate Offsite
So, you’re planning your 2025 work offsite? Let us take a wild guess: A hotel conference room with fluorescent lighting, thousands of post-it notes and yet another awkward round of ‘two truths and a lie.’ We've seen it all before (a hundred times). That's why we approach our Von Peach offsites a little differently. Because when you shake things up, amazing things happen - ideas start flowing, creativity sparks and your team actually connects. Want to tap into our secret offsite sauce? Here are our 7 tried-and-true tips to turn your next corporate offsite into an event that will have your team buzzing long after it’s over.
Find a Venue That Sets the Stage
Your venue really can make or break your offsite - so it shouldn’t be a decision you make lightly. Instead of the usual conference room, we suggest exploring spaces that inspire creativity. Think art galleries, lush gardens, lakeside villas or scenic nature retreats - these spaces aren't just aesthetically pleasing, they also breathe life into fresh ideas and genuine team connections.
At our 2024 Von Peach offsite, our team stayed at an ecoresort nestled into the hills behind Barcelona. The beautiful, serene setting made it feel less like work and more like a holiday!

Don’t Overlook Your Menu
Happy bellies are key to a happy team - there’s nothing worse than sitting through hours of strategising and team bonding without proper fuel. Make sure you carefully select your menus to bring everyone’s tastebuds (and dietary requirements) to culinary heaven. Better yet, make food an official part of the agenda with an interactive cooking demonstration or lesson!
Menu dramas at our 2024 offsite left a sour taste in some people’s mouths (no pun intended!). Best believe we won’t be underestimating the meal plans again!

All work and no play? No thanks
Sure, every offsite agenda needs some time for discussing your vision, strategy and upcoming projects. But make sure you break it up with some play time! Trade the cringe-worthy icebreakers for activities that your team will actually enjoy. Why not organise a beach volleyball tournament, pottery workshop, outdoor adventure or even dance class? And remember to add in generous ‘down time’ periods for people to relax and decompress in their own ways.
For part of our offsite agenda, we gave people the opportunity to choose their preferred activity. The adventurers spent the morning stand-up paddle boarding at the beach, while the zen-seekers had a relaxing spa and massage.

Go All-In On Your Theme
We believe having a great theme gets everyone much more excited to join the fun. So pick a creative, engaging theme and commit to it fully - think retro beach parties, glamorous Gatsby evenings or Wes Anderson-style dinners. A clear theme adds excitement, anticipation and a strong sense of togetherness… Not to mention the photo ops!
Our Barcelona offsite was 90s-themed. The aesthetic: Glitter, fishnet tights, neons and chokers rummaged out of old shoeboxes holding our dearest memories. The mood: Kelly Rowland getting mad at her ex for not texting back on Excel.

Custom Merch For the Win!
Nothing builds hype quite like custom merch. Think branded tote bags, stylish apparel, personalised water bottles… anything that lets your team take home a physical memory of their experience. It’s a thoughtful touch that shows how much you value your team.
We wanted our offsite merch to be chic but practical for our summery location - so it was beach towels and tote bags for all, adorned with custom designs by tattoo artist Awkward Aron.

Keep the Mystery Alive
A bit of secrecy goes a long way. If you reveal too much too soon, you’ll spoil the fun, so drop hints, build anticipation and save a few surprises for the big day. This suspense not only pumps up the excitement, but also ensures everyone arrives ready to engage and participate.
We had a much-anticipated ‘offsite location reveal’ meeting in the lead up to our 2024 offsite - building the hype before people even knew where we were going!

Capture the Magic
Trust us when we say you’ll want to relive the fun again and again, so make sure you have a professional photographer or videographer onsite for part of your agenda. Professionally captured moments give your team something to share and reminisce about long after the offsite ends. Plus, they make fantastic marketing material for your next event!
At our 2024 offsite, we circulated several disposable cameras for our team to snap moments from their own perspective. The results were spontaneous, silly and oh-so nostalgic!

Bonus tip: Start Planning Yesterday
The best events don't come together overnight. Planning ahead (and we mean months ahead) ensures every detail, big or small, is perfect. Create a dedicated planning team early, share responsibilities clearly and keep track of tasks meticulously. A carefully planned event reduces stress, allowing everyone - including the planners - to enjoy the experience fully.
Ready to reinvent your corporate offsite and create memories your team won't stop talking about? We’d love to help!
